Leona™

Polyamide resin

Leona™ represents our global portfolio of specialty polyamide 66-based compounds. We offer mineral, glass-fiber and unreinforced Leona™ products for your component needs.

Nylons have traditionally been a go-to material for components and applications involving harsh environments, as these materials offer enhanced ignition resistance, superior thermal stability and high levels of tensile strength and rigidity, including metal replacement structural characteristics. Our Leona™ family of nylons carries the same characteristics of standard nylons plus more.

What Is Nylon Used For?

Nylon is used for a number of applications, including injection molded parts for mechanical equipment and vehicles, for use as a thread or rope, and reinforcement in rubber material like car tires and clothing. It is also the plastic of choice for many components in the engine compartment of vehicles because of its chemical compatibility, temperature resilience and strength.

Often used as a substitute for low-strength metals, nylon is easy to wash, elastic, resistant to chemicals, exceptionally strong and relatively resistant to abrasion.

Engineering Resin

LEONA 14G series

Widely used in automotive applications such as bush and knocking sensor housings, engine mounts, torque rods and cylinder head covers. 14G is a standard glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 material with excellent heat aging resistance, creep resistance, fatigue strength and high overall strength.

LEONA 90G series

Major applications include HVAC vanes, roof rails and door mirror stays. A glass-fiber-reinforced PA66/PA6I material, 90G has high mechanical strength and an excellent surface appearance.
