Community Outreach

At Asahi Kasei Plastics North America (APNA) part of our company mission is to work together to deliver growth for our communities. We believe a key element to be about to achieve this is community involvement. Annually we host United Way event to raise funds for the organization. Employees are encouraged to get involved with the community during different volunteering opportunities.

We believe in stepping up to help the community in times of crisis, during the COVID-19 pandemic APNA donated 15,000 nitrile gloves to the office of Detroit Public Safety. These gloves were then distributed to the police, EMS and firefighters of Detroit. Along with the nitrile gloves APNA also donated 400 masks from our sister company Sage to our local community.

ZERO WASTE

At Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, we want to play our role in contributing to a sustainable society. We believe it is important to develop products and processes that contribute to reducing the impact on the environment so that we can help our surrounding communities.

One of our company goals is to achieve ‘Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025’ at our three locations. There is a cross-functional group dedicated to evaluating waste streams in both our manufacturing and office areas. Our facilities have in-house recycling stations for metal, paper, cardboard paper and plastic so that employees can contribute to this initiative. The group also focuses on the overall reduction of environmental impacts in areas including, but not limited to, greenhouse gases and water usage.

To achieve our goal, we are focused on creating a ‘closed-loop’ system within our company so we can share our initiatives on sustainable culture. If you have additional questions on the sustainability efforts of Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, we encourage you to reach out to our media relations team at [email protected].

Recycling Bins

As a company we are partners of Operation Clean Sweep®, a program designed to help stop pellet, flake and powder loss into the environment. By making the pledge APNA is committed to good housekeeping to achieve this goal.
